A proper job search for college students is really important if you want to get your career off on the right foot. A lot of people take the wrong approach to the student job search, assuming that all they need is a job to make a little bit of money while they are in school. Although you can pay the bills washing dishes or working in a corner store, if you can find a more prestigious position it will do wonders for you. Effective student job searches can make you the contacts you need while you're still young. You might find a student internship, or at least a position doing something that will teach you the skills you need.
One of the most interesting and rewarding student jobs that I ever had was working as an outdoor wilderness instructor. I had had some wilderness training, but none of it was very formal. Nonetheless, when I found the organization through my student job search, they were willing to take me on and train me. It was one of the best experiences of my life. I got in great physical shape, learned all about teamwork and survival skills, and was able to motivate at-risk kids by showing them around the great outdoors.
I was surprised by how much that particular job helped me when I was finally out of college. I wasn't going into any field related to the outdoors, but nevertheless people were always impressed when they saw it on my resume. I had had very little experience in the professional world, you see, so having something that showed that I understood leadership was invaluable. I can not say that the student job search was the reason behind my current professional success, but it certainly didn't hurt.
Of course, a student job search can be very complicated. When you are looking for a job, keep in mind that the only thing that matters is finding that one perfect position. You should use any means at your disposal In student job searches. You should use job finding websites like Monster and Craigslist, career counselors, and most importantly, personal resources. If you have a connection with someone who has a connection with a job you want, by all means exploit it! That, after all, is what connections are for. The controversy over outsourcing jobs to India
During the mid-1990s, global trade agreements opened international economic markets, while internet businesses thrived. As a result, many cultural barriers vanished and the world became virtually smaller. Corporations, looking for ways to cut costs, took stock of these factors and decided that overseas labor markets might be useful in boosting the bottom line.
Large American technology corporations were among the first to take the plunge. Universities in India had foreseen the need for programmers and developers and developed information technology curriculums to fill the growing world demand. Newly graduated teams of Indian programmers came to the United States to train in American corporations.
These Indian teams, once trained, returned to India to continue work on a telecommute basis. Outsourcing jobs to India had begun. Due to the lower cost of living in India, American corporations were able to pay much less to Indian workers than to their American counterparts, thus saving hundreds of millions of dollars.
The corporate planners projected that outsourcing jobs to India would save at least 20% on labor, an enticing figure indeed.
Outsourcing jobs to India became the way to go, with most IT corporations in the U.S. following suit. By 2001, American programmers were virtually unemployable, undercut by the cheaper Indian labor. This produced what amounted to a depression for the American IT industry worker.
Corporate planners failed to anticipate several factors that ate into the savings in labor costs. Ultimately, projects ended up costing more than those done by American workers. Communication with non-native English speaking programmers half a world away proved to be a great difficulty. Time zone differences made normal work hours in India opposite that of the American management teams, resulting in massive scheduling problems. Another serious problem surfaced when programs written in India could not be readily integrated with interfacing programs developed in the United States.
After several years of intensive outsourcing, the American IT corporations began to realize that overall profits were waning, not growing. Meanwhile, American programmers and developers had been forced into new career paths, depleting IT resources in the U.S.
However, other U.S. industries continued outsourcing jobs to India, by the hundreds of thousands. From resume writers to telephone answering services, cheaper Indian labor put more and more Americans out of work.
A tightening economy and higher energy costs in the U.S. created resentment among displaced American workers. The impact of outsourcing now affects a large segment of U.S. workers.
While some corporations now still enjoy higher profits by outsourcing jobs to India, the strategy may eventually backfire. Workers in the U.S. who are laid off in favor of an overseas worker cannot afford the goods sold by these corporations. Reduced operating costs may well turn into excess inventory. So the question remains, do we want a strong economy at home, which benefits all of us, or strong economies abroad?

Medical Coding
One of my closest friends has a job at a local hospital doing medical coding. I am still of a little fuzzy about what it is that she actually does, but I know it has to do with medical records and patient information. Though she loves her job, she sees a lot of things that most people do not see. This includes personal information about a lot of people that she knows. It is a good thing that she is an honest person with a lot of integrity, as she would never discuss people’s personal medical problems with anyone else.
She started and medical coding by chance. She was working in the emergency room at the hospital for a very long time, and was even doing some nurses aide work. Though she didn’t mind working in the emergency room, she was unhappy with her work situation. When a position opened up in the medical coding department she jumped at the chance to try. Though she had some trials and tribulations with her new boss, she quickly learned everything she needed to know.
Because she did not have any education and medical coding, the hospital paid for her to take some classes. As her work schedule grew, and her commitments to college courses grew, she found herself more and more at odds with her boss. In the end, the boss was gone and my friend was the new co-head of the medical coding department. She didn’t start out to take away this woman’s job, but in the end there’s only so much you can take. Though this is an important job, my friend know she was working for woman on an unwarranted power trip.
Though I do not know a lot about medical coding, I do know a little more than I used to. I understand that my friend had to take classes that help her understand parts of the body that I have never heard of. She must be able to recognize many things that most of us have never heard of and it must be second nature to her so she can work quickly. She keeps charts and sometimes billing under control at her hospital. Medical coding might be thought of it away as data entry for a hospital. Though it may not seem like one of the most important jobs in the hospital, bad things can happen if she is not accurate. This might be a career for somebody with an exceptionally good eye for detail.

You may never get banking jobs if you have a criminal past. Because vast amounts of money may be all around you, and some of that cash may pass through your hands all day long, they don’t want to take the chance with someone who was convicted of a crime. There are exceptions, but not many. Not all banking jobs have access to money, but that won’t matter when it is time to consider your criminal background. There are plenty who will take a chance on someone with this type of history, but a bank may very well not be one of them.
You may not think it is fair, but you will have your credit checked when applying for banking jobs. If you have less than stellar credit, they will not want to hire you. This is the reason why many smart and otherwise talented people get turned down when they go for jobs at a bank. Though you may be an honest person, banks worry that your debts would trigger something in you that might make you steal some money to pay them off. Again, not fair, but I can see where they are coming from with this.
Lastly, while being a teller at a bank may seem simple, a career in banking is not. Most banking jobs can lead to promotions if you are a good worker. However, if you are not really good with numbers and math, this might not be the career for you. Some can add or subtract large numbers in their mind, and they may calculate interest without the use of a calculator. Some can’t do those things very easily even with the aid of a computer. If you happen to be one that is bad with math, you may want to skip the banking jobs and move on to something else. If you are good with numbers though, this might be right up your alley.

Best Careers
Employers have said that they are more likely to be 12 percent more graduates this year than last year. It is the first projected increase since the year 2000.
In another study, a projected 60 percent of US business plan to employ the same number of graduates this year as with last year. That is an increase of fifty-five percent from last year, according to the CERI (Collegiate Employment Research Institute) at MSU.

"Positively Thinking Out of the Box"
How can one person "think out of the box?" This should be done independently, but how? Here's an example: Cut a cake into eight slices but you have to make no more than three cuts. Most people will have trouble coming up with a way to cut the cake. But to solve this, you have to change the way you look at the cake and how to cut it. One perfect solution is to cut the cake into two equal sizes and put the other half on top of the other. Cut it again in half then stack the other half pieces on top of one another and cut them again. There you go, that's thinking out of the box.
Another example of thinking out of a box is this: Here are four words... subtract, multiply, add, decrease... Now which one does not belong to the group? Mostly people would right away say that the word "decrease" does not belong. Why? Because all the other three words are mathematical jargons and the latter is not. Well, that's not thinking out of the box, if you think out of the box, the answer would be the word "add" since it only has three letters while all the other have six and more. You could give a lot of right answers but the one that shows more creativity stands out.
The prevailing component in the way our minds work is inserting some changes from past experiences and processes. Another good sample is when you are asked two days that starts with the letter "T". Your answer would probably be Tuesday and Thursday. Hey, how about Tomorrow and Today? Well, that is out of the box all right. Companies try to test a new product and are sure they are getting a design at a reasonable cost. They look at things in the business and think that objectives will work just as planned. But these things sound monotonous already, for they only think using the past as patterns. Patterns are helpful since they help finish tasks such as driving, eating or drinking. However, these are the same patterns that make it hard for people to think out of the box and create alternative solutions to a dilemma especially when challenged with unwanted data.
One important move to break the pattern is trying to reverse patterns, designs or solutions and arouse new interest. Take thing as they are and turn them inside out, upside down, or simply turn them around and you'll be surprised with the result. This was Henry Ford's personal experience. His conventional plan was to just "bring people to work." He tried to change all this into: "bring work to the people." This plan generated more revenues.
Another way to bring out other solutions to simple problems and situations is to not think about the subject. If you want to bring about something more creative, think not of the part of the problem itself, rather, think of people or subjects in motion and then use the abstract formation or design as a stimulus for a new design.
But to think out of the box, never shy away from the fact that some of your ideas could really be crazy enough. This could break rigidity of thinking and present a way to sift the harebrained and irrational. This gives the thinker more freedom to think out of the box and reinvent things in way they have never been arranged before. What you could do is list several odd or absurd ideas about a certain problem.
Letting go of the question will release the stress you are undergoing by trying to “squeeze” the creativity. Once you let it go, all the power of the universe is free to find a solution and the solution will come to you when you least expect it.
In much more real life scenarios, you could think out of the box for fun. You can practice fun trouble-making stuff without hurting anyone by saying or doing the unexpected. But make sure that you do this first to persons you already know to avoid conflicts and negative confrontations. Say, a buddy asks for the time, automatically you would look at your wrist watch which is a result of the stimulus-response theory. Thinking out of the box, why not say something crazy like, "Oh it's time for a vengeance," then head toward the door. Watch their reaction as they go into total confusion and trance as you have totally mixed things up in their heads and interrupted their thinking pattern. (Don't forget to apologize afterwards)
Thinking out of the Box or usually known as creative thinking seeks to design new and really creative arrangement of elements to produce a work of art. Being an out of the box thinker can be a rewarding profession. This is dangerous, but it could be one of your strengths in no time. If the herd is going to the right, you go the other way.
Remember that you could be genius in your own way. Your thoughts come from deep reaches and these totally different ideas are clever enough to make a difference in the end. Being creative and out of the box is wild sometimes, but could move you through growth and self-development. You'll be surprised at how easy and differently it will be for you to fix and try to solve things away from the tried-and-true habits. Let your thinking out of the old box be your guide to a new and better, wonderful approach to life.
